Advanced Cardiac Life Support

02 January 2010 5 Comments

Vital Ethics provide ACLS classes that are designed for health care professionals who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospital. The ACLS class is an environment for providers to develop and enhance their skills in the treatment of victims of a cardiac arrest and other emergencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support emphasizes the importance of BLS CPR to patient survival; the integration of effective primary care with advanced cardiac life support interventions; and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation based of 2010 guidelines.

ACLS is based on simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students will practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader. Realistic simulations reinforce the following key concepts: proficiency in basic life support care; recognizing and initiating early management of peri-arrest conditions; managing cardiac arrest; identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes; recognizing other life-threatening clinical situations (such as stroke) and providing initial care; ACLS algorithms; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.

  • Physicians
  • Nurses,
  • Paramedics,
  • Respiratory Therapists

and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

Course Length: Approximately 16 hours (Initial) 8 Hours (refresher), including breaks

.

I took this class last fall and was surprised at how much better it was then my previous ACLS certification courses. It would be so much easier to do it online though.

Does anyone know if they provide discounts for groups?

James, We can provide a discount for groups over 6 if training is done at our place and over 10 if we are coming out to your facility.

I don't think the class will ever be totally online. There's too much money invloved. I would be glad to spend $200.00 and complete the course online. I think most of us with experience would rather do that.
