Marines Infantry
Marine Corps infantry members make up the largest portion of the Marine Corps. This is due to the extreme focus of the Marines on being infantryman first, no matter what their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). This is reflected by the Marine Corps doctrine, “Every Marine is a rifleman.” There are fifteen separate MOS’s in the infantry branch of the Marine Corps. Most common is the Rifleman, who is the primary troop member of the Marines.
A Riverine Assault Craft Crewman serves onboard a Riverine Assault Craft, which is an inland and coastal patrol vessel. A Landing Assault Vehicle Crewman drives, maintains, and fires weapons on a Landing Assault Vehicle. There are also Rigid Raiding Craft members who handle all aspects of their vessels, as well as Combat Rubber Reconnaissance Craft members who handle all aspects of their crafts. The Marine Scout Sniper is a highly prestigious position, whose members are highly skilled marksmen and experts in field craft.
A Reconnaissance Man is an elite warrior of the Marine Corps who specializes in deep reconnaissance missions. A Reconnaissance Man can also be Parachute Qualified, Combat Diver Qualified, or both Parachute and Combat Diver Qualified. A Machine Gunner is responsible for handling all the heavy machine guns the Marine Corps uses. A Mortarman provides indirect fire in support of riflemen, using light and medium mortars. An Infantry Assaultman fires anti-bunker and anti-armor assault weapons. An Anti-Tank Missleman fires heavy anti-armor weapons. An Infantry Unit Leader assists officers in the training and deployment of infantry troops.
