Cost may vary but not very much depending on where any potential assistant will receive their training. For instance registration fees run about $60.00. Certificate or diploma programs can begin at $850.00 up to $7,560. The Certified Dental Assistant exam cost around $125.00 for registration and both the written and practical exams. Lab fees cost about $560.00, and book fees can go as high as $1,600 for the full course. For those who are qualified the American Dental Assistants Association offers an annual scholarship while the American Dental Association retains a list of accredited dental assisting programs.
