A Day in the Life of a Veterinarian

A Veterinarian Assistant differs from Veterinarian Technician and Veterinarian Technologist in several very important ways in that the educational requirements are not regulated by the State. Most States do not require the Vet Assistant to be licensed or certified. A student can attend an often non accredited vocational school where the Vet Assistant program is a Certificate not a Degree. These are generalizations and not may not be the case for every Veterinary Assistant Program. The potential candidate must educate him or herself on the chosen Collage or Vocational School’s reputation, the type of accreditation, employer satisfaction with graduates, and transferability of earned credits. While a Certificate from a non accredited vocational school may be enough to get a job these Certificate Programs can cost thousands of dollars and leave the graduate in debt with credits that will not transfer as they are not accepted by a more traditionally Accredited College or Universities.
