Being A Vet

Future job prospects for Veterinarian Technicians are projected to be extremely positive. While salary expectations for Vet Techs are average, the growth and stability of the career field are very attractive. The potential to be in a ‘recession resistant’ job may also be a factor which speaks for a career in the field. Focus of this article will be on the Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Technologist career fields and how they differ from a Veterinary Assistant.

Veterinary technologists also will enjoy excellent career opportunities. The USBLM reports 4- year Bachelor Degree Programs only account for 500 graduates annually this is well short of industry needs. This is a growing industry which is certainly worthy of the attention of persons with a love of animals and the passion to heal.
